Nikki Hills - PCC Governor - Chair of Governors - Chair of Learning and Progress Committee, Writing and Policies Governor

Mum to 3 children, all of whom have gone to or are currently at Brightwalton School. Prior to having children I spent 10 years in recruitment. I joined the governing board in 2011 as the elected Parent Representative Governor until 16.09.15 when my term of office ended. I re-joined the governing board in October 2015 as a Parochial Church Council Governor and am currently the Chair of Governors, Policy Governor and Writing Governor. I am a member of the Learning and Progress Committee and the Performance Management Panel.


Fiona Racher - Vice Chair of Governors

My daughter attends Brightwalton School, and I am delighted to have been elected to join the Governing board on 22.09.15 as a Parent Governor. I bring a wealth of experience from working in both small and large organisations, and for the last 14 years have been running a small Oxford-based IT company. I am a member of the Resources Committee and also the Performance Management Panel.

Janet Patterson - Head Teacher Governor - Admission Appeals Governor

I have been in post since April 2014 and came to Brightwalton with over 25 years’ experience of teaching in a range of settings across all age groups from 3 years to adults. I bring 17 years of governing experience in both Primary and Secondary Schools in Hampshire, Berkshire and Surrey and am very pleased to be working with such a hard-working and committed team of governors.

Anne Clark Deputy Head Teacher - Staff Representative Governor

I joined Brightwalton School in September 1994 as a parent and a qualified teacher. My four children all attended Brightwalton School. I became part of the governing board in 2007 as the elected Staff Governor and I am a member of the Learning & Progress Committee.

Pamela Kelly- Foundation Governor

I am currently one of the Year 5/6 teachers at Brightwalton School and have been teaching this class since 2009. Over the course of my career, I have also taught in secondary schools, worked in HR and Finance and run my own interior design business. I have been a governor since 2007.  I am a Parochial Church Council Governor and am also a Resources Committee member.

Rachael Coleman - Diocesan Foundation Governor

I joined the governing board on 13 July 2017 as a Diocesan Foundation Governor and am also a member of the Resources Committee. I work as a solicitor, specialising in Real Estate Litigation and my son used to attend Brightwalton School.

Denise Herrington - Diocesan Governor - Special Educational Needs and Safeguarding Governor

I have been involved with Brightwalton School since 1998; I have 2 boys who attended the school, I was a member of the Friends Association, worked in the Reception Class as Nursery Nurse for 7 years and continue to help run after school clubs. I have been the Supervisor of a local Pre-School for over 10 years and have a post graduate qualification, Early Years Professional Status, from Reading University. I am a Diocesan Education Committee Governor and am also theSafeguarding Governor and SEND Governor, as well as being a member of the Learning & Progress Committee,

Chris Lockett - Parent Governor

I am a senior manager working for a multi-national energy company with over 18 years of experience in a variety of engineering, technology and procurement  roles. During this time I have been located in a number of different locations including UK, Japan and South Africa. My daughter Holly and  my son Noah both attend Brightwalton School.  I joined the governing board in October 2015 as a Parent Governor and I am a member of the  Resources Committee. 

Rev Miri Keen - Foundation Governor

I took up my post as Rector of the West Downland Benefice in February 2018 and so became a Foundation Governor at Brightwalton Primary School.  I come into school regularly to lead Collective Worship assemblies and enjoy being part of the school services held in the village church.   As well as supporting the Christian ethos of the school I am also committed to ensuring that all of the children receive the best possible education to equip them for the opportunities and challenges of twenty-first century life.  Before I became a minister I was a primary school teacher specialising in the Early Years, Science and Maths.  Since my ordination I have been a Governor in good and outstanding primary schools and in an outstanding secondary academy. I am currently a Foundation Governor at Welford and Wickham Primary School.

Sue Cownley - Clerk to Governors

 I have been Clerk to the governing board of Brightwalton Primary School since 1992. I also work in the school as the School Business Manager.
