British Legion

The school marked Armistice Day with a short remembrance service for Year 6 at the war memorial in Brightwalton. We were delighted to be joined by some parents and villagers.

The rest of the school held a short service in the school hall leading up to observing a two minute silence at 11am.

The school have been raising money through the sale of poppies and wristbands.

Water Aid

As part of Eco Week, the children took part in a WaterAid event, wearing blue clothes and contributing to the fund to get clean, safe water piped into Simango Basic school in Zambia.

We raised an incredible £178.00 which will buy 89 meters of pipeline to link the school with the borehole sunk in March 2016. The activity was lots of fun and helped us all to understand the daily struggle that children in many parts of the world have, just to get the water they need to survive.

The video below is the 1st update from Simango Basic School.
