Quadkids 2018

This year’s 10th anniversary of Quadkids was very competitive with well over 500 competitors taking part.  Quadkids is a competition incorporating four events – a long distance run, a throw (vortex), a sprint and a standing long jump. Each competitor has to complete all four events.

Brightwalton entered a Year 3/4 team and a Year 5/6 team. The weather conditions were good which helped everyone to get off to a good start. In Year 5/6 Sam and Theo did extremely well in their sprint and their long distance run with Edie and Imogen doing well in their standing long jump. Joshua did well in his 600 metres,  though if he had to run twice that distance I’m sure he would have won. Theo came 5thoverall which is amazing! In Year 3/4 Joe and Georgia both got fast times in the sprint and Harley and Sophie both got good standing long jumps. Joe came 12th boy and Georgie came 17th girl!

Key Stage 1 Football Tournament

On the 30th April,  Mrs Harding took Florence, Jemima, Lily, Oliver and Rowan to the KS1 football tournament. Each school had to play each other in 5 short matches. Our team played very well, with good sportsmanship and some great goal keeping from Florence. Well done!
