Maple Class are our Year 3 and 4 children, we follow the National Curriculum. As we move into Key Stage 2 we build on the skills acquired in Key Stage1, learning to apply these across an increasingly sophisticated and varied curriculum.

Mrs Scarrott and Mrs Banks are our amazing teaching assistants and Mrs Thornhill teaches us on Mondays from 10am until 12pm while Mr Helsby does some planning!

Online Learning

Homework Timetable for Maple

Monday - Reading - Comment in homework diary

Tuesday - Spelling - Learn all week (Attack and phonics groups may get spellings on a different day so check book bags)

Wednesday - Creative homework - Hand in following Monday

Thursday - Mental Maths - Hand in following Monday

Homework is set to compliment the work at school so any support you give will be of benefit.   Try to listen to your child read as much as you can and enjoy quality time together getting involved in some creative learning!   We want to make children curious, enthusiastic and excited about learning.   Use the wonderful resources on DB Primary to help making learning a little more exciting, especially for spelling and maths.   You can log on to DB Primary from this page using the log in details given to your child.

*Attack homework might be set on a different day depending on what group they are in.   Please check with your child and look in their book bags.

Feel free to help your child with their homework but remember, if they are struggling and get upset, don’t worry!   Leave it and make a comment in the homework diary.

Useful Resources

Below you can download documents you might find useful such as our termly curriculum map, timetables and National Curriculum documents.   You can also find instructions on how to download an Education City app so that their activities will work on tablets and phones.

Maple class making colour collage inspired by the music and art movement The KLF!   Remember them?   Also, check out photographs of the 'islands' we designed, 'magnet inventions' and 'things you can do with a potato'.   Below is a film Georgia made about what she did with a potato.
